Bill Heslop
'Bill the Battla' was a driving force behind Porpoise Spit and its development board. While Bill sometimes strayed into controversy, he always held Porpoise Spit first in his heart. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2011. But his memory and influence will always be remembered! We love ya, Bill, you'll always be our little Aussie battla!

Betty Heslop Farrell

   
Once a promising young actress, Betty Heslop devoted the majority of her adult life to Bill Heslop and their children. A kind and loving person, Betty was thought to have passed away in 1995. But as it turns out, Betty is alive and well!

It seems that when Bill Heslop was going through his notorious rocky patch (involving 'commissions' and a government inquiry) in 1994, he was involved with local beauty consultant Deidre Chambers. Betty, as it turns out, knew of Bill's business and romantic dealings, and had turned to Heslop family friend and physician Dr. Rocky Farrell as confidant and trusted advisor. At his urging, Betty faked her own death and left Porpoise Spit with Dr. Farrell to start a new life in New South Wales.

She has taken up acting again, and goes by the name Jeanie Drynan. And she has a gorgeous and talented daughter from her second marriage, actress Ella Bowman.

Recently, Betty came out of seclusion to join Joanie back home in Porpoise Spit. Welcome Back, Betty!

Perry Heslop
Our favorite florist Perry Heslop is the owner of Porpoise Spit's most celebrated floral showcase, Say Yeah With Flowers. Perry's life took a turn after the 'death' of his mother, and he established his florist shop soon afterwards in her memory. Perry has since reconciled with his mother, who helps him out occasionally with special event planning.

Murial Heslop Nobes & husband Brice Nobes
Porpoise Spit is so proud of dynamo Muriel Heslop Nobes! Muriel and her husband Brice (who made his millions by winning the lottery) own the most exclusive bridal shops in Porpoise Spit, 'Muriel's Weddings'. This chain of stores is now worldwide. Muriel and Brice devote the majority of their time to each other and charity. You can follow Brice, once a parking inspector, then actor, then millionaire, under his stage name Matt Day on Twitter.

Joanie Heslop
The comedian of the Heslop family, our Joanie has taken her humor on the road and is a famous and well-loved stand-up comedienne. Known for her signature phrase, "You're terrible, Muriel!" Joanie delights audiences worldwide with her humor and energetic spirit. Her stage name is Gabby Millgate, be sure to follow her on Twitter, or try and catch one of her shows or TV appearences!

Malcolm Heslop
Seems the performing bug has bitten all the Heslop kids! Malcolm also made the stage his life, and can be seen performing in movies, TV shows and on the stage.

David Van Arkle
While David never did get the gold medal in the Olympics, he remained a devoted swimmer and sports enthusiast. After he and Muriel seperated, David stayed in Sydney. He is now married to actress and author Fay Ripley, and they have two children.

Rhonda Epinstalk
Rhonda is a talented author and has done so much to put Porpoise Spit on the map! Rhonda became a novelist after losing the ability to walk due to a spinal tumor, and her series of books, "Porpoise Spit is the Sh*ts" became worldwide bestsellers.

Constable Brad Saunders
Young Brad was a highly respected Porpoise Spit Constable for many years, and still finds the time to visit local prisons and correctional facilities. You can find him chronicling his interesting life on Twitter and Instagram.

Deirdre Chambers
Lovely Deirdre Chambers has made a huge success of Radiant Cosmetics. Taking her expertise of lipstick, blush and eye liner to the next level, Deirdre has moved Radiant Cosmetics from a local franchise to a world-wide successful cosmetics empire. After her relationship with Bill "What a coincidence!" Heslop, Deirdre had a brief and unfulfilling marriage to Heslop crony Leo Higgins. After her divorce from Leo, Deirdre put her whole heart and soul into Radiant to make it the success it's become today.

Peter "Chook" Vernell
Everybody's favorite surfer Chook has created quite a musical legacvy for himself. After his stint in the correctional facility, and divorcing Tanya, he changed his name to Nathan Kaye and began a music career in earnest. He can be found of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Tania Degano
When a hair salon incident robbed Tania of all her long blonde hair in 1996, she spent several years in seclusion until it grew back. During that time, she divorced Chook Vernell, and spent many hours reading the novels of Jane Austen. Currently she writes and performs one-woman children's plays based on the Jane Austen novels in the Porpoise Spit elementary school system.

Nicole
After an ill-fated affair with Chook, Nicole fell out with mates Janine, Tanya and Cheryl. After two unsuccessful attempts at medical school,. Nicole decided to become a sex therapist. She now runs a string of sex therapy 'spas' along the coast that are very popular with the society crowd.

Cheryl
Although Cheryl and Shane did briefly get back together, they finally broke up for good in 1995. After that, Cheryl stayed in Porpoise Spit and devoted her time to helping animals. She became an animal rights activist and spends much of her time traveling the world in search of justice for animals.
